Cycling Ireland to select Ras na mBan Irish National Development Team
 
Ras Na Mban Squad


Cycling Ireland will be selecting a development squad for Ras Na Mban. The purpose of the squad is to work towards the possibility of some of the squad being selected to the Irish Team For Ras Na Mban which is the leading women’s race in Ireland.

This squad will be selected from some riders already on the development squad and other riders who have shown potential through their performance in the Womens national league  Classic league events and National Championships and other similar events in Ireland or abroad.

The squad will be selected following the National road and TT championships in June. Selected riders will participate in Training camps, a specific training programme and some races in preparation for the Ras.

Riders will be expected to follow designated training programmes provide detailed feedback on their training and participate in events as agreed when becoming a squad member.

The profile of the riders we are looking for is:

·         They are Cycling Ireland Licence licence holders

·         Are in possession of a valid Irish passport or are eligible to hold an Irish passport

·         Skilful

·         Can climb well

·         Have good endurance

·         Are ambitious

·         Thrive on competition

·         Have time and have discipline to follow a suitable training programme

Preference will be given to riders with the ability and ambition to progress to elite – professional women’s team
