Cycling Ireland would like to wish all our members a Happy Christmas, and a fun, safe and successful 2014. As the 25th Anniversary of Cycling Ireland closes, it is time to reflect on what has been a full and prosperous season. 

January: 
Eoin Mullen breaks the Irish Record in the 200m sprint at the World Cup in Mexico, becoming the first Irish man to go under 10 seconds for 200m.


February: 
Martyn Irvine becomes World Champion in the Scratch Race in Track Cycling, within 1 hour of winning a silver medal in the Individual Pursuit.

March: 
Cycling Ireland kick off series of cycling workshops in association with SKODA. 
April: 
Irish Youth riders dominate the Youth Tour of Scotland, with the FBD Talent Team 2020 and Neenan Travel Talent Team 2020 winning across all categories.

Dan Martin takes breakthrough Classics win at the Liege-Bastogne-Liege.

May: 
Connor McConvey finishes the An Post Rás in second place, in the same time as winner Marcin Bialoblocki (POL).
June: 
Bike for Life is launched, the Cycling Ireland beginners cycling programme. Matt Cooper (Last Word with Matt) and Caroline Ryan are named as the ambassadors for the programme. 
Irish Paralympic Team pick up numerous medals at the first two World Cups of the season thanks to Mark Rohan, Colin Lynch and the tandem pairing of Katie-George Dunlevy and Anne Dalton. 
The National Sprocket Rocket Family Cycling Festival launches Bike Week, with a huge turnout in St. Anne's Park, Dublin.
July: 
The Irish Team race phenomenally at the Junior Tour of Ireland with Eddie Dunbar taking the overall win.
International GP in Sundrive is named as a recognised UCI classified GP, with qualifying points for the World Championships being allocated. Irish riders Caroline Ryan, Martyn Irvine and Ryan Mullen dominate in a top class field, putting Ryan and Irvine in the Number 1 ranking in their disciplines.
Ryan Mullen wins Bronze Medals in both the Individual Pursuit and the Scratch Race at the European U23 Championships. 
Dan Martin wins a stage in the Tour de France, after an exciting finish. 

Kelvin Batey wins the BMX Masters World Championships, giving a boost to BMX in Ireland.
August: 
Ireland enter full strong team at the Junior World Track Championships, with Junior Women racing for the first time. 
Paracycling Team perform outstandingly at the World Championships in Canada. Katie-George Dunlevy and Fiona Guihen win a Bronze Medal in the World Cup, with Colin Lynch taking the overall World Cup Series. Mark Rohan wins Bronze in the Time Trial at the World Championships.
September: 
Nicolas Roche wins a stage in the Vuelta and finishes 5th overall. 
Olivia Dillon and Melanie Spath dominate the An Post Rás na mBan racing on the Irish Team. 
Irish team have mixed fortunes at the UCI Road World Championships - with Nicolas Roche and Ryan Mullen impressing in the TT. 
October: 
Martyn Irvine wins Bronze in the European Track Cycling Championships. 
Cycling Ireland membership increases once more, with almost 20000 members by close of registration in October.
November: 
Martyn Irvine wins Gold at the World Cup in Manchester in the Points Race. 
Cycling Ireland announce their Hall of Fame at the annual Awards Night, which included cycling stars past and present, in a celebration of cycling in Ireland. 
December: 
Caroline Ryan wins a Bronze Medal at the World Cup in Aguascalientes in Mexico, and finishes 2013 at the Number 2 ranked Individual Pursuit rider in the World.

Head Coach Brian Nugent is names as Sports Manager of the month for the month of February at the Philips Sports Manager of the Year awards.
Martyn Irvine is named Northern Ireland Sports Personality of the Year.
