The Giro d’Italia is a three week international stage race taking place in May, and this year Ireland has been selected as the host for the Grande Partenza, or the Big Start, which will take place from the 9-11th May. Two stages will be held in Northern Ireland, and the third stage starts in Armagh, before travelling through Louth, Meath and Dublin, finishing up in Merrion Square in Dublin City. With over half a million spectators anticipated, this is a real opportunity for you to be at the heart of the action, acting as an official Giro marshal along the route.

Cycling Ireland is coordinating the marshals for final leg of the Giro journey, and will be offering marshal training and information to marshals over the coming weeks. Once trained up these marshals will receive an official endorsement on their licence from 2015, and will be able to avail of opportunities to marshal at other key events, like the European Marathon MTB Championships in June.
