In support of National Bike Week 2015, An Garda Siochana is highlighting the increase in bike-related crime. Bike theft continues to be targeted on an ongoing basis. Specific operations are in place in Dublin City Centre using “Bait” bikes to target bike thieves. Over recent weeks An Garda Siochana have been trialling the use of GPS trackers, to test their effectiveness in preventing/detecting bike theft. This testing is currently ongoing.
Remember, the best way to protect your bike is to lock it properly with a strong appropriate locking mechanism, in a secure place.
