The Board would congratulate the three riders on their superb achievements. It was also noted that the combined 12hr and 24 hr distances recorded by Ultan was a new record for the combined distances earning him the Marcher Cup. His combined distance of 787.450 miles beat the previous record which was held by Gethin Butler.

Rules.

It should be noted that as the result of the new grading rules accepted at the AGM riders who finished the 2013 season as A2, A3 or A4 licence holders may opt to upgrade one category for 2014 but their application in respect of this must be in respect of their 2014 licence application and must be lodged in Kelly / Roche House by 31st December 2013.

The Board has also agreed a derogation for promoters in respect of UCI Technical Regulation 2.1.008 and 2.1.009. These relate to the fact that National Races may only have a maximum of three foreign teams and can only accept Continental Teams registered in Ireland.

Following the acceptance of a proposal relating to the introduction of Masters’ National Road Race Championships the Board are currently looking at how this impinges on the current Veterans’ National Road Race Championships.
