Unfortunately the Junior Women's Race at the Junior National Road and Time Trial Championships has been cancelled due to low entry numbers.

Race organiser Michael Crowley of Team Osbourne/Meats Edge Sports had not received the sufficient entry numbers for the races by the 10th August, and in accordance with Cycling Ireland's Technical Rules the race cannot be considered a Championships Event.

This is disappointing for both the race organisers and the Cycling Ireland Women's Commission who had put a lot of work into promoting and creating a strong junior women's scene, which has been boosted on an international stage in recent weeks, thanks to the silver medal performance of Josie Knight in the Individual Pursuit.
