Ciclovia is a Health and Community based initiative which closes a part of the City to traffic on a given day , for a specific period of time in which cyclists are given the opportunity to ride through the traffic free zone of the City. It is designed to give the public ownership of their City , to encourage family participation, to encourage healthier lifestyles and to encourage and engender community spirit.
On Sunday 4th October, between 9am and 12.45pm, the route in Belfast between Botanic Gardens and City Hall will be closed to normal traffic. There will be activity along the route - SUSTRANS , Sprocket Rocket, music , cicrus performers etc - and all the cafes will be open . There will be 2 hubs of activity , at City Hall and Botanic Gardens , where there will be try it sports ,kids activities , access to the Museum etc.
