CYCLE RIGHT the national standard launched at the start of the year and, to date, over 80 schools round the country with over 3000 participants, are signed up for training in the lead-in to Easter. This is the first time Ireland has had a national standard for cycle training and particular emphasis is placed on educating participants to become competent, confident cyclists who will have the skills to move safely on the road network.
Minister Shane Ross was on hand to launch the programme, taking to the bike with Geoff Liffey, Cycling Ireland’s Chief Executive Officer and a group of children from Our Lady of the Wayside NS in Kilternan.

CYCLE RIGHT Stage One training is part-funded by the Department of Transport, Tourism and Sport and the Road Safety Authority in primary schools across Ireland.
