The winners in the Cycling Ireland monthly awards for June have been announced. The recipients are Darragh O'Mahony  (male rider of the month), Katharine Smyth (female rider of the month) and Chris McElhinney (volunteer of the month).


The winner of club of the month is Foyle Cycling Club.


The winners were nominated by Cycling Ireland members, with a selection panel voting to decide the winner’s of each category.


The winner of the female rider of the month is Katharine Smyth (Ballymena Road Club)


Katharine has been selected due to her performance at the National Road Championships where she finished third in the elite race and also claimed the Master's title.


The male rider of the month is Darragh O'Mahony (CC Nogent-sur-Oise)


Darragh produced a strong performance at the National Championships in Derry where he won the U23 road race Title and finished 5th overall in the elite race. .




The Club of the Month Award goes to Foyle Cycling Club.

Foyle Cycling Club were selected for the June award due to their successful hosting of the National Road Championships. The event which was held over the 27th - 30th June was highly commended by competitors and spectators.


The volunteer of the month award goes to Chris McElhinney (Foyle Cycling Club)

Chris was the overwhelming winner of the volunteer of the month. Chris was the race director for the national road championships in Derry, where he along with the other organisers and volunteers delivered a top notch event.
