Safeguarding Basic Awareness Workshop, March 8th.

Cycling Ireland was delighted to facilitate their first cycling-specific Safeguarding Level 1 workshop in Drogheda on Wednesday March 8th. This workshop draws from, and is recognised by, the Sport Ireland Code of Ethics Basic Awareness workshop.

The workshop uses cycling-specific scenarios that help place safeguarding in a cycling context. The workshop is interactive and involves discussion around competition and club ethos, codes of conduct and dealing with concerns regarding mal-practice and suspected child abuse in your cycling club.

The aim of the workshop is to raise awareness of child welfare within your club environment and is an opportunity for Cycling Ireland members to gain knowledge and idea share on this regard. If you would like to attend a Safeguarding workshop, or organise for a Safeguarding workshop to be held for your club members, please contact our National Safeguarding Officer, Brigid O’Dea at safeguarding@cyclingireland.ie
