There was a very large turnout for the first race of the youth commission selection series. Unfortuantely the girls under 16 race was declared by the youth commission null and void in terms of selection. This was due to interference by the lead vehicle in the race. The youth commission selectors who were observing the race judged the vehicle to be giving some of the girls an unfair advantage and this coincided with a split in the lead group. As a result it would be unfair to award points based on the given criteria. The lead vehicle at different times in the race held up the riders and even at one stage riders overtook the lead vehicle. The selectors have noted the effort made by all girls in this race. There are still plenty of events left in the series.

Well done to all who competed in both the boys and girls races. Next race is the Ras na nOg hosted by Drogheda Wheelers sponsored by Skoda Motors. This takes place on April 13th and 14th. Click on link for full details.
