Cycling Ireland are saddened to announce the passing of former Olympian Deirdre Bader (nee Murphy) who passed away peacefully on November 11, 2014 at the Calvary Hospital in the Bronx, New York. Deirdre competed in the Sydney 2000 Olympics as Ireland's first ever female road cyclist to qualify for the games. She also won the Women's World Masters Road Race in 1997. Our thoughts go out to her family and friends. RIP
