The Dublin Wheelers Open Cycle Races due to take place in Summerhill on Sat 03-Mar-2018 (morning) are cancelled.
After reviewing weather forecasts, we formed the opinion that it is very unlikely that roads will be safe for cycle-racing on Saturday.
We have made the decision now (Wed afternoon) rather than later, so that volunteers, riders, officials and public/voluntary services (incl. Gardaí, Civil Defence, Community Centre, County Council) can make alternative arrangements for the extreme weather which we are likely to endure over the next few days.
As always, we are very grateful for the marvellous support we received from individuals and organisations - both public and voluntary. Like you, we are disappointed that the event is not going ahead. We look forward to promoting the event and getting your support in the future.
