Dunlevy and McCrystal Race for Bronze Today

Dunlevy and McCrystal Through to Bronze Final at the UCI Para-cycling Track World Championships in Apeldoorn

The female tandem of Katie-George Dunlevy and Eve McCrystal have qualified for the bronze medal ride-off, following their third place finish in the qualifiers of the W B 3km Individual Pursuit at the UCI Para-cycling Track World Championships in Apeldoorn, Netherlands today. Their time of 3.40.770 was just over a second faster than GB’s 3.42.112, against whom they will compete for bronze. The gutsy duo of Dunlevy and McCrystal won a silver medal in the Road Race at the Paracycling Road Worlds last year, where they were pipped on the line for the world title by GB, they will be keen to reverse their fortunes this afternoon. Yesterday Ireland’s Eoghan Clifford won bronze in the Men’s C3 Pursuit, and Colin Lynch finished 4^th in the Men’s C2 Pursuit. In the men’s event Peter Ryan and Damien Shaw finished in 8^th place in a time of 4.30.903 in the M B 4km Pursuit, so will not contest the medals later today. The Championships run from Thursday 26^th March until Sunday 29^th March.

The Bronze Final for the Women’s B 3km Time Trial will take place at approximately 2.30pm Irish time today. Competition began in the Apeldoorn Velodrome on Thursday 26^th March and will continue until Sunday the 29^th March, with all competitions taking place during the day.
