Happy new year! We're back, the Emerald Enduro 2017 is only a scant four months away and we're busy working our magic on the trails of Carrick preparing to welcome back the Enduro World Series for a staggering third straight year in a row. It's hard to believe it now with Europe suffering a deep freeze at the time of writing but last May saw riders and spectators basking in the glorious Wicklow sun watching local boy Greg Callaghan take a second straight win in a row and sparking another epic party. Enduro World Series World Champion Richie Rude finished third and recently named the Emerald Enduro as his 2016 race of the year. In fact it was a spectacular day for the Irish with Greg taking the win in the Elite men category, young superstar Leah Maunsell winning Under 21 Women, Killian Callaghan Under 21 Men and long time legend Robin Seymour in Master Men. The Spectators did us proud too with one of the noisiest rounds of the series that left racers hungry for more. ![Katy practise](http://files.constantcontact.com/b4a2bc11101/ea936ce3-55d6-496c-a3cb-7ddc074fa3a9.jpg) The good news is that May is only around the corner. The competitor entry window is open till midnight Thursday the 26th GMT so there's still time to enter as we send this. There's also still time to sort that training plan out and we have the added advantage of a Challenger category on the Saturday, new for this year. |
