Cycling Ireland would like to advise cyclists of the following safety recall notice sent out by Eurotrek;

Dear All,

The following may have already come to your attention  i.e. the voluntary recall of quick release skewers which has recently been initiated by a group of brands and companies including Felt Bicycles for the USA.

Felt Bicycles feel that once they voluntarily recall in the USA, they should do the same on a global scale. Please find attached poster with all relevant details, it should be displayed in the window or at the checkout area.

Let me quickly describe the hazard.
Some QR levers can be opened too far and thus get latched by the front wheel disc brake rotor.
This may cause the front wheel to stop rotating in an uncontrolled manner, and the rider may fall off the bike.
PLEASE NOTE: not a single incident of such kind was reported to Felt Bicycles until today.

Only models with disc brakes are affected.
Only the front QR is affected.

QRs have to be replaced if they do not pass the "#2 pencil test" as shown on our website

http://www.feltbicycles.com/International/Single-Nav/Inside-Felt/Customer-Service/Notices.aspx,

in this video

and in the attached poster.

Please make use of the provided materials and let us know if any customer - consumer - finds a QR on her or his Felt bike which needs to be replaced.

Thank you very much for your understanding and great cooperation. Felt Bicycles apologises for the inconvenience caused.

Kind regards

Eurotrek
