The UCI World Masters Track Championships are currently underway in Manchester. There have been some excellent results for Irish riders so far with a number of medals already!

Terry Mackin took home Silver in the age 40-44 750m TT, only beaten by a multi Olympian.

Defending World Champion Orla Hendron had to settle for bronze in the age 50-54 2k Pursuit, despite a 2 second improvement in her time. The game is continually moving on.

Silver for Susie Mitchell in the age 40-44 2k pursuit. The lead changed a number of times in a to and fro battle with the defending champion from New Zealand.

Orla and Susie, then teaming up with Erin Criglington(NZ) in the aptly titled team Emerald Blacks, to take silver in the Women’s Team Pursuit against a well practiced GB squad, who broke the World Record in the final and our girls didn’t look out of place!

So that’s 3 Silvers and a bronze with plenty of racing to go this week.
