4 Days in September was an event to honor the crew of Rescue 116 and Caitriona Lucas.

The core group of approx 10 people cycled to the 4 rescue helicopter bases in Ireland over 4 days ,the cycle was just under 800 km in distance.

Along the way they were joined each day by cyclists who also wanted to pay tribute to the crew of the coast guard helicopter that tragically went down in bad weather off the Mayo Coast and also volunteer Catriona Lucas who tragically lost her life whilst saving another.

They were also raising funds for 4 Charities which are, Aoibheanns Pink Tie, Pieta House, Dogs For Disabled and Dunmore east first responder group.

The route they took was Waterford to Dublin, Dublin to Sligo, Sligo to Shannon and finally Shannon back to Waterford. The organizers would like to thank everyone who came out to support them in the towns , made donations to the participants towards the chosen charities and all their sponsors, without whom the event could not take place.

A special word of thanks also to the cycle against suicide gang who kept the cyclists to a strict timeline en route so they reached their destinations on time every day and the motorbike marshals and support staff who kept everyone safe on the journey
