Get on your Bike in Scenic Sligo for the An Post Tour of Sligo 2014

Last year an incredible 2,500 participants took to the roads of Sligo for the An Post Tour of Sligo, including the family fun day and the main events and this year promises to be even better!

The 2014 event will be held on Sunday 4th May and it’s a chance to be active while also enjoying the spectacular scenery on offer in Sligo.

The cycling tour will afford the people of Sligo and visitors to the county, the chance to enjoy stunning scenery ranging from majestic mountains to spectacular sea views; picturesque country scenery and rural villages from the saddle of a bike.

As part of the overall event, there are five different routes of varying degrees of difficulty. Thus the tour will accommodate a wide range of cycling interests, including family cycling, the leisure cyclist and of course, seasoned/experienced cyclists.

Once again this year we are holding the 10K Hazelwood Spin for All on Saturday 3rd May for those of 9yrs and over, and due to its success last year, the 2km Bike Trail for those aged 6-8 years will be happening again. These will be part of the Family Fun Day with a host of fun activities happening at the event HQ. Once again for 2014 we have the 60km Lough Gill Circuit, the 100km Innisfree Tour, and the 160km Ox Mountain Challenge. There will be a different climb this year in the Ox Mountains so a slight change can be expected by cyclists in the 100k and 160k events.

So come to Scenic Sligo, European Town of Sport 2014, and get on your bike for the An Post Tour of Sligo 2014!
