Irish National Cycling Championships Press Release

Host club Omagh Wheelers CC in association with Cycling Ireland; have assembled a fantastic array of sponsors for the 2015 edition of Irelands National Cycling Championships being hosted from the 25th-28th June in the County Tyrone Town.

Race Director Stevie Mc Kenna is delighted with the response “we approached a number of local businesses looking for assistance to stage this event; their responses have been overwhelming and will allow Omagh Wheelers stage an incredible event.

Newly formed super council Fermanagh and Omagh District Council are key partners of the event have offered financial support and also assisting in the in delivery of supporting activities. The local Omagh Leisure Centre will be race headquarters for the race weekend and the newly developed Oasis Plaza in the town centre will become the “Nationals cycling village” for the weekend

Omagh Wheelers are fantastic ambassadors of Omagh, and for hosting this event they deserve so much credit, Fermanagh and Omagh council are delighted to support the event in many different ways.

David Prentice Motors in Portadown will provide vehicle support for the event. A fleet of BMW’s and Mini’s will be at the hub of the racing, providing vehicle for key race officials.

Sallys of Omagh have been announced as the “Official hospitality” partner of the event. Sallys are putting together a weekend of activities in their local hostelry and also at the hub of the cycling village.

Omagh based engineering firm JMG are another of the key sponsors – JMG are already sponsors of the Omagh Wheelers promoted “Tour of Omagh” the only event of its kind in Ireland.

Enniskillen based Lakeland Bikes have also added there name to an impressive list of sponsors  - Lakeland Bikes are a huge supporter of racing in the North West and couldn’t turn down the opportunity to be involved in Ireland’s premier races in 2015.

The Silverbirch Hotel in Omagh have also committed to supporting the event and will act as the ‘official accommodation partner’ for visiting cyclists and officials, Alan Duncan from the hotel is delighted to be involved “Omagh Wheelers are providing a fantastic opportunity to showcase Omagh to the cycling community”.

Cycling Ulster, the provincial cycling body, have provided significant support to the event and are delighted to be assisting Omagh Wheelers in hosting the series of races. Marian Lamb from Cycling Ulster has nothing but praise for the Omagh Club and their efforts.

“Omagh Wheelers are a super club” enthuses Lamb “and will do a fantastic job in hosting the National Championships, Cycling Ulster are delighted to be a part of it”
