Following the immense success of the Irish Paracycling Team in Rio at the Paralympic Games, the members have been reaping the recognition in recent months with Awards across many local and national platforms.


On Friday 16th December Katie-George Dunlevy and Eve McCrystal will be among impressive company when they anticipate the outcome of the Irish Time Sport Ireland Sportswoman of the Year Awards, where they won the Award for the  month of September.


On Saturday 17th December the whole Irish Paracycling Team has been nominated for the RTE Sports Team of the Year Award, with Eoghan Clifford and Katie-George Dunlevy & Eve McCrystal being nominated for the RTE Sportsperson of the Year award. At the Paralympics the Paracycling Team came home with five medals including two Paralympic Titles.


On the track Eoghan Clifford won a bronze medal in the MC3 Individual Pursuit, and on "Winning Wednesday" which was Time Trial day Colin Lynch kicked off a fabulous day winning silver in the MC2 Time Trial, followed by two golds by Katie-George Dunlevy & Eve McCrystal in the WB Tandem Time Trial and Eoghan Clifford in the MC3 Time Trial. In the WB Tandem Road Race Dunlevy and McCrystal went on to win silver, rounding up a wonderful games for the team. 


Outside the medals Ireland enjoyed outstanding performances with personal bests and world class racing from the tandems of Damien Vereker and Seán Hahessy and Peter Ryan and Marcin Mizgajski. Declan Slevin and Ciara Staunton made strong debuts at the Games in the handcycling events on the Road.
