Mix of Experience and Promising Riders to Compete in France


Cycling Ireland has named a large team to compete in the 2016 Road UEC Road European Championships which take place in Plumelec – Morbihan – Bretagne, France from the 14 – 18 September. The team is a combination of Juniors, U23 and Elite riders who will compete across the Time Trial and Road Race.


Technical Director Brian Nugent believes that the mix of experience and new talent on the team will provide a great learning experience for the younger riders; “We are delighted to be bringing such a large and competitive team to the European Championships. There’s a good mix of new and upcoming riders along with the experienced top level professionals on the team, this will not only be a competitive championships but it provides a great opportunity for the newer team members to learn from the best.”
