As part of Scott-Orwell Wheelers Stephen Roche GP event, there will be a separate women’s race, the Lisney Women’s GP.
For the third year in a row, Lisney Estate Agents return to sponsor the Lisney Women’s GP. Lisney’s support enables the race to offer equal prize money to the Men’s Race, €500.
As it is annually held on Nationals Week, a strong field is usually expected with Irish racers returning from abroad to compete.
There will be a Handicap race this year. The riders will be graded into A and B, with the B Group being allowed a gap. This will ensure that all competitors have a good night’s racing.
There will be prizes for the Top 8, as well as first unplaced Scott-Orwell Wheeler.
Sign-On opens at 17:00, and closes at 18:30. Sign-on will be located in Ballinteer Community School, where car parking is available.
Entry fee is €15 for Senior riders, and €5 for Juniors.
The race will be run from 19:20 to 20:00 in Meadow Mount Estate, which is 1.2km away from Sign-On.
The Stephen Roche GP is Ireland's most prestigious criterium race, running annually since 1995. The challenging but spectator-friendly circuit invariably produces great racing action for the crowd lining the roadsides and congregated in the central green area. The 1.3km loop is located in the housing estate where no less than three of the Roche family took their first tentative pedal strokes on the road to Tour de France glory.
