There is still time to become an official Giro Marshal, we will be offering training on the day at 9am at the below hubs for anyone interested in being part of the Giro d'Italia as a marshal on Sunday the 11th May.


Note that we will be offering training on the day, so even if you have not completed the Giro Marshal Training already, you can turn up on the day and become a marshal for the Giro d'Italia.

GATHERING HUBS

Crowne Plaza Dundalk, meeting at 9am for sign on and uniform collection. 

City North Hotel, Julianstown, Co. Meath, meeting at 9am for sign on and uniform collection.

Fingal County Council Building, Swords, Co. Dublin, meeting at 9am for sign on and uniform collection.


JUST TURN UP ON THE DAY - BY COMPLETING THE FORM WE WILL BE EXPECTING YOU ON THE DAY

Note:

There will be free parking for those driving.
You will be given a packed lunch on the day.
We will be providing a pink high viz vest, and would like if you also wore black trousers.


AGENDA:


9am: Sign on at hub – and complete a 20 minute training course. Pick up your uniform and packed lunch (provided by us)

10.15am: Buses pick you up from the hubs and drop you off at the point where you will be marshalling. You will be dropped off approximately 20 minutes before the Caravane arrives.


Approx 13.00 (depending on where you are marshalling):
The Caravane passes through, this is a carnival type parade of vehicles which give out free merchandise to spectators. This passes about 90minutes before the race. This is followed by several official vehicals and race officials.


Approx 15.00 (depending on where you are marshalling):
The race passes, with a cavalcade following it (support cars). Once the last cars on the road pass (including the Broom Wagon) the road will be re-opened by the Garda Siochana. 


Approx 15.30 (depending on where you are marshalling):
The bus will pick up all the marshals, with each marshal signing off on the bus. 


From 16.00
Kennedy's pub 300m from the finish line at Merrion Square will be hosting the Cycling Ireland Marshal Recognition Party, with finger food and a free drink for all marshals who took part on the day.

Note that we are still short marshals, in particular for Louth. This is a key location, as it is the cross over for the race from Northern Ireland to the Republic of Ireland we are looking for commitment from people to attend these Hubs on Sunday, as soon as possible.
