On the back of a fantastic season, Martyn Irvine has been named Northern Ireland Sports Personality of the year.
The Track Cycling World Champion in the Scratch Race has had a mixed season, picking up a World Title, World Championship Silver in the Pursuit, a Bronze in the Omnium in the Manchester World Cup and a Bronze in the European Championships.
This achievement is all the more remarkable considering the fact the Irvine broke his femur in a crash a month after his World Championship win.
