A Masters Women TT - demo event has been added to the National TT Championships in Derry on Thursday 27th June. This is open to female riders born in 1979 and older who hold an IRL Nationality on their licence.

It is a demonstration event this year with a view to becoming a full Championship in the coming years if we can get enough women to register. This means there will be medals awarded but no Masters skinsuit awarded until it hopefully achieves full Championship status in 2020.

Any women who are interested can enter via the link below. We hope to see you up in Derry on the 27th!

The Board of Cycling Ireland will sanction the holding of a demonstration event preliminary to the holding of a full championship for Masters Women 20km Time Trial.

This event was sanctioned at the AGM of Cycling Ireland in 2014. New championship events are subject to regulations T10.Art 2 to 5 inclusive of the Cycling Ireland General Administrative Regulations, Technical Regulations and Procedures.

Subject to the event organisers being in a position to facilitate the event at this late stage it may be hosted in the June bundle of championships. Otherwise it will be added to the program of events in the Masters bundle in September for 2019. A decision on dates for 2020 and subsequent years will be taken at the 2019 AGM of Cycling Ireland.

The event will be open to women:

  1. Who have an IRL designation on their license
  2. Who hold a current Competition or Limited Competition license
  3. Who were born in or prior to 1979
  4. Who have pre-registered for the event
  5. Who have not entered the Women’s Senior Time Trial Championship in 2019

On completion of a successful event the Board of Cycling Ireland will introduce an amendment to regulation T10.1 Article 11 to include a figure of 6 riders as the minimum requirement for the number of female riders for M40 Championships.
