In a 25 bike sprint for second place, Matthew Teggart finished in a fantastic 11th position. Ireland's Eddie Dunbar took the overall win in this prestigious race last year.
The Tour of Flanders is the third race in the UCI Nation's Cup U23, and this year's event was won by Australia's James Whelan who finished six seconds ahead of Germany's Max Kanter who emerged strongest in the sprint for second place. Third went to Whelan's Australian teammate Robert Stannard all in the same time as Teggart.
Daire Feeley and Conn McDunphy finished 61st and 68th respectively, with Dermot Trulock, Jake Gray and Darragh O'Mahony listed as non-finishers.
