Ireland is also the reigning World Champion in the Female Tandem, courtesy of the gold medal ride in February 2012 of Catherine Walsh and Francine Meehan. This year Katie-George Dunlevy and pilot Even McCrystal will be competing at the Championships. The male tandem comprises of Paralympic Bronze medallist James Brown, with partner Bryan McCrystal. The main focus of all the riders will be on the Individual Pursuit, while they will also compete in the Kilo time trial.

Speaking ahead of the World Championships, Coach Neill Delahaye said “The pursuit is the main focus for this campaign. All the riders are honing their track skills in two intensive training blocks in Majorca over the six weeks.”
