ROAD SAFETY CONSULTATION

When we are out on our bikes the following request from the RSA might not seem relevant to us, but very many of us drive at other times, when the proposal below just might be a lifesaver in an emergency situation. There’s still time to give your opinion, but don’t delay as the consultation process closes this FRIDAY JUNE 12TH.

REMINDER! RSA launch Public consultation for Emergency packs in all Vehicles

The Road Safety Authority (RSA) launched a public consultation to seek views on the requirement for a breakdown emergency pack, including a first aid kit, a high visibility vest, a breakdown triangle and a torch to be carried in all vehicles.

The RSA believes that there is a potential road safety benefit associated with the introduction of emergency packs in vehicles and this is an action (105) in the Government’s Road Safety Strategy 2013-2020.

Before making formal proposals to the Department of Transport, Tourism and Sport, the Road Safety Authority is seeking feedback from the public via this public consultation.

The background details on the consultation can be found on rsa.ie or here.  The consultation period began on 13th May 2015 and the closing date for submissions is Friday 12th June 2015.

Feedback for this consultation should be submitted online via a short survey on rsa.ie. It can be accessed here

Alternatively, you can request a paper copy of the consultation survey by emailing info@rsa.ie .

Please put ‘Public Consultation Emergency Packs’ in the subject field and include your name and address in the email.
