Two more Bronze medals for Susie Mitchell to add to the team tally. The first came in the combined age category Scratch Race 35-44, after a race where the bunch were constantly fighting for position and she paid the price for trying to come over the top over the closing laps as the pace was ever increasing.

Orla had a different race altogether as she was the one dishing it out with constant attacks from high up the track but everything was closed down mostly by the superfast Danish sprinter. In the end she had no medal to show for her effort, but most definitely enjoyed her race.

Then next night Susie took Bronze in the 500m TT in a new Personal Best of 38.909 time and indeed was less than 1/10 second off silver.  Small consolation too, that the riders who took gold and silver in the previous night’s scratch race were placed 4
th and 5th in the 500. Both Irish riders will ride the points race within their respective categories on Friday.

Best of the men was Greg Swinard placed 11th in the 3k Pursuit in a time of 3.38 – a time that placed him 6th last year. Again testament to the fact that every year standards are going up.
