This weekend will see Irish riders compete in the second Tissot UCI Track Cycling World Cup on the 2017/2018 calendar, which takes place in Manchester, UK. Mark Downey, who is currently ranked number one in the Points Race in the world rankings, will not be competing this weekend.

Another significant change to the Irish team for this week’s World Cup will be the inclusion of the Women’s Team Pursuit team, featuring four riders who have come to the sport through the recent talent identification and transfer process.

Racing begins on Sunday with Lydia Boylan competing in the Omnium and Lydia Gurley and Marc Potts racing the Scratch Race. The World Cup runs from Friday 10th November to Sunday 12th November.
