Track Cycling International Grand Prix Set for July at Dublin’s Sundrive Road.

 

Thursday 6th February 2014: The Cycling Ireland Track Commission has today announced that the prestigious UCI Track Cycling  International Grand Prix, will take place on July 12thand 13th 2014 at Dublin’s Sundrive Road outdoor cycling track. Building on the huge success of last year’s International Grand Prix, the very first year of the event, it has been confirmed that this year’s event will span a full weekend and is expected to attract a high-calibre field from Ireland as well as enticing talent from abroad.

 

Crucial Olympic qualification points will be up for grabs and world Number One Pursuit rider, Ireland’s very own Caroline Ryan has already confirmed that she will compete at the event .

Speaking about this year’s Track Cycling International Grand Prix Caroline says “I’m really excited about the International GP this year. It was great to get the opportunity last year, for the first time, to race and win an International track race on home ground and I can’t wait to get back out and race in front of a home crowd again.”

Spectators will be welcome and indeed encouraged, to come along in July to support Irish athletes in their quest for Olympic qualification.
