Monthly Update on What's Happening In Cycling Ireland

Busy Season in Cycling is Well and Truly Underway! What Happened in June

June was a great month for cycling in Ireland. Sure, the sun wasn't always playing ball, but that didn't dampen the spirits of our cyclists, event organisers and volunteers who were out in force.

Following a successful few World Cups, the Paracyclists put in a good block of training ahead of the An Post Tour de Burren. Watch them train in this INSPIRATIONAL VIDEO and check out THESE PHOTOS.

Our Family Cycling Festival BikeFest was a huge success with the young cyclists. WATCH IT HERE

The National Road Championships took place in Kilcullen, hosted by Orwell Wheelers WATCH THE ELITE WOMEN AND SENIOR MEN'S RACE HERE

For the fourth year running, the Track Cycling Commission ran the very impressive Dublin Track Cycling International - WATCH THE VIDEO, and with a large medal haul from the Irish riders LISTEN HERE to some interviews and CHECK OUT OUR LATEST RIDER PROFILE - LYDIA GURLEY

The Irish Team represented themselves extremely well at the WORLD MTB XCO CHAMPIONSHIPS

Important Statements from CI

Cycling Ireland are always looking to make positive changes to how the sport is run, and with this in mind we have recently started to recruit for Event Safety Officers who will help ensure that the safety at events is of the highest standard.

We have sent out THIS FORM asking for anyone who is interested to fill in their details and we will contact them in due course.

We are also taking measures to find out how we can improve our service to our members. With the number of people cycling constantly increasing, the landscape of the sport is changing.

We recently contacted members who had not renewed and asked them to fill in THIS QUESTIONNAIRE to let us know how we can improve.

With Rio just around the corner, Paralympics Ireland recently ANNOUNCED THE TEAM!!! Congratulations to those selected, and hard luck to those who just missed out on what was a tough team to select.

Bike for Life, Mountain Bike Fest and More

Mountain BikeFest takes place in Bike Park Ireland on the 24th July, and has been introduced to get more young people mountain biking. FIND OUT MORE about the free MTB festival for under 18 year olds.

Enduro legend Greg Callaghan has recently been announced as an ambassador for Gearing Up Off Road - the beginners guide to mountain biking.

Recently qualified Bike for Lifers took to the roads for the Tour de Conamara. HERE is their journey to the start line.
