Richie Byrne RIP, Coaching Updates and Cycle Protest for Funding

On the 29th of September the cycling community in Ireland woke to the news of the passing of the "Godfather" of MTB, Richie Byrne. The 54 year old was an active promoter of mountain biking and dedicated much of his time to recruiting and developing the sport, his loss will be felt by many.

On Monday 3rd October over 800 cyclists turned up in Dublin for a Cycle Protest to demand more funding for cycling from the Government. We all know that an investment in cycling is an investment in health, environment and transport. You too can write a letter to the Minister, HERE'S HOW.

In order to promote women's mountain biking, we have been running a number of Women's Gearing Up Offroad Programmes with top mountain bikers and coaches Silvia Gallagher and Michelle Muldoon. Are you interested in taking part in the next one?

We are currently looking for clubs to participate in a Sprocket Rocket Skills League Pilot - are you interested?

We recently announced increased funding through Women in Sport for Bike for Life programmes, HERE IS HOW you can avail of this funding.
